MANTU is the solo project of Anton Kistrin, frontman of the iconic Ukrainian indie rock band “Kimnata Hretchен.” Anton is originally from the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia region. His therapeutic songs are a space where Ukrainian melancholic lyrics and unconventional poetry meet acoustic instruments and live looping, post-soul, a touch of trip-hop, and tender indie folk — light melancholy and dark irony.
“Kimnata Hretchен” became a defining voice of the central Ukrainian indie scene in the 2010s. Since 2015, the musicians have been volunteering in support of the Ukrainian military and performing concerts for Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel in frontline areas.
