⚽️ A museum dedicated to Zaporizhzhia football has opened at Slavutych-Arena; Andriy Shevchenko, President of the Ukrainian Association of Football, attended the opening ceremony.
The exhibition chronicles the development of football in the Zaporizhzhia region. It features a collection of archival photographs, jerseys and memorabilia from various eras, materials on local stadiums, and a dedicated section for FC Metalurh.
Among the exhibits are personalized jerseys belonging to Zaporizhzhia footballers, bearing the autographs of Yevhen Khacheridi, Serhiy Kryvtsov, Eduard Sobol, Pavlo Shkapenko, Oleksandr Kosyrin, and other athletes.
Interactive zones have been set up for children, allowing them to play table football, test their skills on an interactive football pitch, and join in other themed activities.
During his visit to Zaporizhzhia, Andriy Shevchenko also visited an underground school, Gymnasium No. 76, a new football pitch, and a youth football section.
💬 "I saw something here that I haven't seen anywhere else in Ukraine: underground schools with football pitches on the surface. This is exactly what young people need. Zaporizhzhia is becoming a model city, showing the whole world that, despite the war, it is possible to live and to develop football," noted Andriy Shevchenko.
The museum was opened as part of the "Re-establishing Football in the Zaporizhzhia Region" program. Over the course of a year, 27 new football pitches were built, 80 training groups were launched, and 110 school teams were formed in the region. More than a thousand children took part in competitions.
