Address
177, Sobornyі Avenue, Zaporizhzhia
Two five-story buildings on Sobornyі Avenue, known as “Lavrov's Insertion Buildings,” were built in 1936 during the construction of the Socialism City.
Their architecture combines innovative constructivism and classical elements of ancient Eastern architecture in the Art Deco style. Both buildings have a similar composition and physical dimensions. Their facades are distinguished by symmetry and a smooth surface of the central plane of the walls. Ornamental figurative brickwork and profiled cornices add sophistication.
The entrances to the buildings are located on the side of the street, and the prospective arches of the through passages are the main accents of the buildings.
In 2008, a three-story shopping and entertainment center was built between the buildings, which created a dissonance in the urban environment.
