Address
6, Svyatoho Mykolaya Street, Zaporizhzhia
The mansion was built in the modern style in 1910. Upon closer inspection, one can understand how the inner-city development has changed over time. The traditional manor disappears, replaced by a regular perimeter development.
The architect was able to embody the concept of late modernism in the building, where comfort and convenience are the highest spiritual values, and the space becomes alive and dynamic.
In the design of the house, emphasis is placed on the stairs, around which the rooms on the first and second floors are grouped. The abandonment of symmetry and axial composition in favor of functionality allowed for a comfortable and convenient spatial solution for the house.
Different proportions of windows and original window sills create a unique image of the building. The lighting of each room was individually designed. And the use of high-quality silicate bricks as a means of decoration and a carrier of aesthetic qualities allowed for new possibilities of traditional building materials.
The main part of the house, which faced St. Nicholas Street, was occupied by the owner and his family, while the courtyard wing was allocated for furnished rooms for rent.
