When we hear the name of a military unit, we most often imagine equipment, weapons, combat missions or the front line. But, first of all, behind each brigade there are people.
For Zaporizhzhia, war has long ceased to be news from the news feed. It is always nearby - in daily alarms and shelling, in volunteer work, in helping the military and in waiting for those who defend the country. And it is at such moments that it is important to remember that behind the names of combat units are not numbers and abbreviations, but human stories.
21 separate mechanized brigade includes hundreds of different human stories and characters. These are people who once worked in schools and hospitals, built houses, taught children, opened their own businesses or dreamed of traveling. But today they stood up to defend the country.
There is no pathos in these photos. Only real emotions, tired but confident looks, smiles that remind us: the Ukrainian army is not a faceless mechanism, it is people.
People who support their comrades-in-arms. Who make their choice every day - to be where they are needed most.
They are the ones who create the strength of the 21st separate mechanized brigade. Not only with their endurance, professionalism and courage, but also with humanity, which does not disappear even in the most difficult conditions of war.
Because each brigade is first and foremost people. And it is thanks to them that Ukraine continues to fight.
