Today is Ukrainian Architecture Day — a perfect opportunity to take a closer look at Zaporizhzhia and remember that a city is made not only of streets, but also of the stories preserved within its buildings.
The city’s architecture is remarkably diverse, ranging from early 20th-century industrial structures to later urban developments. Together, they tell the story of how Zaporizhzhia has evolved over time and what it has become today.
In times of war, these meanings become even more profound. As parts of our urban heritage are being destroyed, documenting and preserving it becomes more important than ever.
To mark the occasion, we invite you to the presentation of the new Architectural Guide to Zaporizhzhia, created by Pavlo Kravchuk @ppk_heritage, Mykhailo Mordovskoi @mykhailo_mordovskoi, and @dompublishers. Join us as we explore the city through its architecture and the stories its buildings have to tell. You can find more information about the event in our previous post.
