📢 Open Call for the “Voices of the City 2026” Art Residency Is Now Open

This year’s art residency focuses on exploring Zaporizhzhia’s industrial identity through contemporary art.

👉🏻 We invite participants to explore engineering not only as a technical phenomenon, but also as a cultural one — from Cossack fortifications and Mennonite industrial heritage to modern production, engineering schools, and the transformation of the industrial landscape today.

The residency will culminate in a group exhibition at the Center for Contemporary Art, presenting artistic reflections on the past, present, and future of Zaporizhzhia as one of the country’s major industrial centers.

👉🏻 Project period: September 2 – October 3, 2026.

The project is implemented by the Center for Contemporary Art of Zaporizhzhia with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation @ucf.ua as part of the “Zaporizhzhia: Cultural Stronghold” competition, in cooperation with the NGO “Union of Contemporary Art Researchers” and BIRUCHIY contemporary art project @biruchiy.
