We invite you to the opening of the exhibition by Kateryna Beslik @kateryna_beslik on June 19 at 5:30 PM.
📍Zaporizhzhia Center for Contemporary Art (3 Central Boulevard)
The exhibition “Huliaipole — My Little Homeland” is a process of self-reflection that begins at a point of evil, passes through waiting and hope, attempts to live through grief and helplessness, and ultimately reaches the physical loss of home.
It is an invitation to reflect on home as a source of identity and strength; on memory, which preserves its presence even after loss; and on the inner fortress that helps us endure when our external home no longer exists.
“Most importantly, it was there that I became Kateryna Beslik — a designer, stylist, and fashion artist. It was there, in the southeast, that I first became aware of myself as a Ukrainian.
That is where my sense of freedom, stubbornness, and inner wildness comes from.”
⸻
KATERYNA BESLIK is a fashion artist and designer-stylist who works at the intersection of fashion and art through the practice of upcycling. Her primary medium is clothing, which since childhood has served both as a means of protection — to hide oneself — and as a way of expressing uniqueness and being seen.
