The White House deserves special attention. Once in the building there was the Central School of the Khortytsa Colony (Zentralschule). The largest wing of this building ( stay perpendicular to Istomin Street) was built in 1891. It had a small outbuilding with a small bell tower and large clocks manufactured by the local Krieger watch factory.

In every Mennonite settlement there was a primary school - "Dorfschule" (rural school). Secondary education could be obtained in the "Zentral Schule" - Central School.
