Cultural code. Space district

We continue to explore the cultural code of districts and neighborhoods of the city. Today it's Space's turn. "Space", as they call the residential area in everyday life, is primarily perceived as a sleeping area. Green and comfortable to live. But is there anything interesting here in terms of culture and leisure? Of course.

Gagarin Park
This is a special place for the inhabitants of the Space District. It is clean, green and spacious. There are several playgrounds. You can often meet older people playing chess and checkers. Concerts and various activities take place in summer.
Many locations in the neighborhood are dedicated to space issues - the former cinema "Cosmos", shopping center "Cosmos City". There is even a mural.

"Space music that everyone understands!"

Famous Zaporizhzhya artist, designer, sculptor Roman Khalilov worked on the creation of the mural. According to the plan, the facade of the building is decorated with an image of an alien playing a musical instrument.
Among the historical locations of "Space" - Barricade Street with old buildings. Here you can see the water tower, built in 1946. The date is preserved on the building itself. Also interesting is the school building (Zaporizhzhya Gymnasium 83, Barikadna Street 2), built in 1936.

Sculpture "Space Dogs"
One of the highlights of Gagaria Park. According to the local sign, mutual love and a happy marriage await the lovers who will pass under the arch. The sculpture and the Alley of Lovers are the favorite place of the newlyweds' photo sessions, as the Registry Office is directly opposite.
