💭 “At the beginning of 2025, after spending almost all of 2024 working on my documentary project ‘Along the Dnipro,’ I felt an even stronger need to convey the truth and reality of war. However, time did not allow me to travel to the front lines as often as I wanted. That was when I returned to FOTOVRAMCI with an idea: to send disposable film cameras to Ukrainian service members stationed along different sections of the front, allowing them to document their own lives, daily routines, and work.
The company supported the project by providing 25 cameras, for which I am deeply grateful. That is how it all began in February 2025.”
The project soon became much more than a collection of photographs. Along with the cameras, the participants were invited to return a small artifact of their own choosing and a handwritten letter.
💭 “It became a story of personal experiences, loss, resilience, and memory. I gathered artifacts that will remain part of our country’s history after victory and remind future generations of these difficult times. Together with the photographs, they form a unique anthology of the men and women defending Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence.”
