Opening of the Contemporary Art Exhibition "Horizon of Defense"

On July 24 at 5:30 PM, the Zaporizhzhia Center for Contemporary Art will host the opening of the artistic project "Horizon of Defense."

This is an in-depth visual exploration of the genetic code of the Ukrainian landscape and the iconic elements of our culture, interpreted through the uncompromising language of contemporary art.

This is what we are fighting for. The vast, profound landscapes, peaceful chalk hills, and endless steppes of Ukraine embody our land, historical and cultural space, roots, and traditions that the enemy is trying to erase.

An integral part of the exhibition and its inner shield will be quotes from soldiers of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine "Azov"— reflecting on what culture and their native land mean to them.

"We collected these works like one collects testimonies — from memories of peaceful landscapes to images that become sacred. This exhibition is our shared journey, an attempt to unite the voices of the defenders with the power of art," says curator Tetiana Shatts @tetyana_shatts
