Khortytsia Through the Ages… and the War

Khortytsia is a place where history continues to live and shape our present 🌿

The project “Khortytsia Through the Ages… and the War” is returning to preserve cultural memory through art, reflect on the present, and show how the history of Zaporizhzhia and the island intertwines with the events we are experiencing today.

Ten artists from different parts of Ukraine will take part in an all-Ukrainian plein air and create a series of works inspired by Khortytsia, its history, and symbols. These works will later be brought together in an exhibition, as well as in a catalogue that will preserve them for future generations.

This project is an opportunity to see a familiar place from a new perspective. It is about a dialogue between the past and the present, the power of culture even in the most difficult times, and art that helps preserve our identity 🇺🇦
