Change of EU entry rules

Share
From 2021, the European Travel Authorization Information System (ETIAS) will be launched in the EU. Under the new rules, citizens of Ukraine will need to obtain prior travel authorization before traveling to the EU Member States by submitting an online application.

You must submit your request no later than 96 hours before your flight.

Issuing a travel authorization will take a few minutes in the absence of warnings from EU law enforcement or elements that need further investigation.

The cost of one application is 7 euros (for persons under 18 and over 70 years old - free of charge). The authorization will be valid for 3 years or until the validity of the travel document registered at the time of application.

The European Travel Authorization Information System is not an analogue of the visa system. It's just a simple permit to travel. In case of denial of entry through ETIAS, the person will have the right to appeal the decision of the system.

The Delegation of Ukraine to the EU reported that prior authorization would allow the European Union to identify in advance persons who could pose a migration / security threat and greatly increase the security of the EU's external borders. The new system will also significantly reduce the number of entry bans directly when crossing the border, as travelers will know in advance whether or not EU Member States have reservations about their trip.
