The Museum of Zaporizhzhia Architecture

The Museum of Zaporizhzhia Architecture

The Museum of Architecture of Zaporizhzhia (MAZ) is a craft space that explores, preserves, and promotes the history of Zaporizhzhia through architecture and urban space. It tells the stories of buildings, neighborhoods, and people who shaped the city, transforming complex topics into an understandable and engaging experience for different audiences.

MAZ consists of four halls that cover the development of urban development from the 18th century to the present day: the period of the Alexander Fortress, the Mennonite colonies, the city of Oleksandrivsk, the modernist development of the 1920s–1930s, and the post-war restoration of the city in the mid-20th century. Through models, archival materials, visual images, and excursions, you can see how Zaporizhzhia has changed and why it looks the way it does today.

In addition to exhibitions, it hosts excursions, quests, educational events, meetings, and other interactive formats. The Zaporizhia Museum of Architecture is a living space for dialogue about the city: its past, present and future.
