This Neo-Renaissance-style building is one of the oldest and most beautiful in our city. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was decided to build the Zemstvo administration building in the very center of the Oleksandrivsk . The construction was supervised by the well-known county engineer Yakiv Delant from 1913 to 1915.
After the construction was completed, the Zemstvo administration worked here, and the oval meeting hall hosted Zemstvo assemblies. Part of the premises was allocated for museums: on the first floor - the building department, on the third - the agronomic.
After the 1917 revolution, the building was occupied by the Alexandrovsk county executive committee of public organizations. During the occupation of the city (1941-1943), the Ukrainian municipal police were located here.
Since 1977, the main building has been transferred to the Zaporizhzhia Regional Local Lore Museum, which is still located here. From 1985 to 1990, the building was overhauled with partial replacement of interfloor beams, cladding of the floor and walls of the vestibule with natural stone, restoration of roofs, and facades.
