A ray of light pierces the darkness. The walls are there to structure and catch the movement of the sun's rays. A person creates form to warm and cradle a person. A person creates a form to oppress and destroy a person. Another kind of form offers no way to break its bonds and becomes a trap instead of a shelter. A form can't pass through another form; although a person is not only matter, they are also light, an energy that always finds its way out of the walls of sorrow.
In May-June 2022, the international project "Artist and City: Residency" took place in Halle, Germany.
It was a practical research residency for Ukrainian and German professional artists working in various media of three-dimensional art. The initial goal of the residency was to rethink post-industrial cities such as Halle (Germany) and Zaporizhzhia (Ukraine) through the lens of new media in public space. russia's brutal war against Ukraine that began on February 24, 2022 has radically changed the focus of the residency. Through their art object, the artists explored the vision of safety in the city in times of disaster.
The international cooperation project «Artist and the City: Residency» was implemented by the NGO Cultprojector and the Zaporizhzhia Regional Youth Center with the financial support of House of Europe.

The art object was installed with the support of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Zaporizhzhia City Council on August 21, 2023.
