The Verhnia Holova Rock is located on the northern part of Khortytsia. It is here that offers a unique panoramic view and it is possible to admire the views of the Old Dnipro, the arch bridge and the powerful industrial giant - the DniproHES. And on the edge of the cliff there is another historical monument - Stone Baba.
On the island of Khortytsia, there are three cliffs that have been crowned holova (head): the Verhnia Holova, the Serednia Holova (in the middle of the island) and the Nyzhnia Holova (southern).
Surprising this rock is added not only landscapes, mesmerizing, but also the mysterious Snake Cave, shrouded in Cossack legends, which says that there was a huge snake in the cave, which during the Cossacks flew out of the cave every night, illuminating the Dnipro with bright light. The cave is quite impregnable and during excavations, many interesting archaeological finds were found in it.
Interestingly, according to one version of the Verhnia Holova Rock, it is a possible site of the last battle and the death in 972 of the Grand Prince of Kyiv Sviatoslav.
