Zaporizhzhia, crossing Metalurhiv Avenue and Record Street
About the place
It is considered to be one of the most original buildings of the Second Quarter (Quarter commune) of the Social City (Sixth settlement). The authors of this project were architects G. Orlov and V. Letavin.
The building acted as a dormitory for construction consultants in Dniprohes, but more like a hotel with all the necessary facilities.
In terms of appearance, the emphasis was placed on the main entrance and there were colonnades of circular columns without bases and capitals. The elongated facade of the building on the side of Record Street in the central part had a through passage to the courtyard. Between the "house - block" and the house on Metalurhiv avenue, previously there was a closed passage on the second floor.
These elongated facades were smoothly plastered and painted white, the object of restrained parade and supported the idea of "white architecture" that was present in the development of this quarter.
