Address
Zaporizhzhia, crossing Metalurhiv Avenue and Record Street
This building, created by architects H. Orlov and V. Letavin, is one of the most original in the Second Quarter (Quarter of the Commune) of Social city (Sixth Settlement). It functioned as a dormitory for consultants of the Dniprohydroelectric power plant.
The architects placed emphasis on the main entrance to the building, where colonnades of round columns without bases and capitals are located. The elongated facade of the building on Recordna Street had a thorough passage to the inner courtyard. Previously, there was a closed passage on the second floor between the “block-building” and the building on Metalurhiv Avenue.
Despite significant transformations, this building remains a valuable monument of architecture and urban planning.
