About the place

The house was built in the first half of the 20th century in a Brick style with elements of early Art Nouveau. The architect, designing the house, prefers the main street, on which the three-story part of the building exits at an angle. Turning a right angle has special attention in the design of the corner of the house; here, the method of cutting the corner was used - characteristic of the plastic solution of the beginning of the 20th century.

Street facades are cut by verticals of risalits and inter-window vanes. Risalits end with triangular forceps. The facades are especially harmonious with vertically elongated windows with window sills and wedge-shaped lintels with a central lock.

The building ends with a light profile cornice on brackets arranged in the rhythm of the location of the windows. For the convenience of renting the building, many entrances to the house from the street and courtyard were made. The most ceremonial entrance looked at the corner of the building. The porch was with steps on three sides. Large display windows were made on either side of the entrance (currently partially closed). Over the entrance to the 2nd and 3rd floors balconies were built (which were not preserved). Another balcony was on the facade from Soborny Avenue.

The internal layout of the building is designed as a corridor with placement of premises on both sides. Floors connect the three internal steps.

The building was leased for various needs. Tavonius rented a corner room on the first floor for a pharmacy. By 1914, there were 10 pharmacies in Oleksandrivsk - the Tavonius pharmacy is known as the largest in the city of Oleksandrivsk.

Post-war reconstruction changed the silhouette of the building. In an effort to provide the building with a more classic look, the spiers on the risalits were destroyed. At the same time, balconies disappeared from the street facades and laid the entrances. Facades painted.

The building began to belong to the Zaporizhzhia automobile factory, a dental clinic was located in it. Additional buildings were added to the building. Later, the corner room was leased to a private pharmacy.

Hubert's former profitable house is a monument of architecture and urban planning with significant historical value.
