Dniprovska street, on the territory of Zaporizhzhia National University, Zaporizhzhia
The monument was erected in honor of the last ataman of the Zadunayska Sich Gladkyi Yoseph (years of life: approximately 1789 - 1866).
The monument is a full-length bronze figure of Yoseph Gladkyi, mounted on a complex form of a red granite pedestal. The chief ataman is depicted in the full dress uniform general.
The author of the sculpture is Filatov. The figure of the chieftain of the Azov Cossack army looks quite convincing and strikes with clear details.
Yoseph Gladkyi became the last ataman, appointed chieftain of the Azov Cossack army and major general.
In 1962, he and his wife moved to the city of Olexandrivsk, where he lived in his own house on Pokrovska Street. In 1980, during the construction of the hospital, the chieftain's house was destroyed.
In the summer of 1866, Gladkyi went to the Ekaterynoslavska Fair and there he became infected with cholera, as a result of which he died in 1966.
